Military Veterans Football Club (MVFC)

Military Veteran Football Club C.I.C. Established in 2022 by David, John and Laura, two veterans and a pad brat!

They are all extremely passionate about helping veterans anyway they can and building a community through football.

David served in the Royal Air Force between 1999 and 2008. He had several postings during that time including Lossiemouth and Leeming. Sadly he had to leave in 2008 due to a knee injury but he thoroughly enjoyed his time in the RAF.

John served in the Army for 27 and a half years. He had multiple UK and overseas postings in that time including, Aldershot, Cyprus, Newcastle and Canada.

Laura is the pad brat, her dad served in the Army for 24+ years and the forces life was all she knew growing up. She travelled everywhere from Cambridge to Germany and describes it as the best time of her life. She has several military links with her Grandfather serving in the Navy, Uncle in the RAF and a Godfather in the Army. She has made it her mission to try and reconnect her father with fellow veterans since he relocated to the area.

What MVFC do....

MVFC organise and run both 5 a side & walking football sessions for military veterans. They currently have sessions in Sunderland, Newcastle and Teesside and will soon be expanding into County Durham, Aldershot and elsewhere in the UK.

The ethos of Military Veteran Football Club is that any veteran can come along for a kick about regardless of age, ability, length of service or who you served with, every veteran is welcome to join us. We try to keep the sessions as affordable as possible to ensure its accessibility.

Their aim is to offer a safe and positive environment, where people can just be themselves and in turn promote physical and mental wellbeing.

There is never any pressure to come to every session, one of the great things about the setup of the sessions is that you can come as little or as often as you want to. If you can't make it every week, no problem, to them you're still as much a part of MVFC as anyone else.

They are fully insured, both David and John are DBS checked and first aid qualified, so you can trust you are in safe hands with them when attending any of their sessions.

They have a great set of veterans who attend sessions regularly and are always looking to welcome more.
